  1. These are two different genealogies mixed because some names sound alike.

    • I need to ammend my comment. The genealogies may be mixed up here, but as far as the M.A. is concerned, my ancestor “relinquished” our claim to another kuleana given to his father by Kamehameha I, and was awarded the Kaiholena property instead.

The ‘Aha Kaukaopua: Kaopua Family Council, has been formed. We welcome any questions regarding this council, our activities, or related genealogies at kunuiakea@gmail.com.

  2. Aloha oe,
Sorry it took so long to answer. I just saw this post. Hope you are able to see this.
We are unable to confirm that information.
We know the names he went by (including his kapu name).
My grandfather was his nephew and claimed that his uncle had many hānai children but none of his own bloodline. My grandfather, and his brother, claimed to be Naluahineʻs only blood relatives remaining at the time of his passing.
What we can confirm, according to our information, is that Naluahine referred to the Alapaʻi ʻohana as “cousins” with whom he made land transactions with (court documents). So we could be ʻohana.
I can still be reached at the email above.
Type “Mookuauhau” in the subject line please.
    Aloha,

    • Allow my to retract that statement about being the “only blood relatives remaining at the time of his passing”. What he said was that he, my grandfather, was next of kin. Which is why he was upset that his uncle was buried before he was notified. Actually both he and his brother were married and had families at that time. My apologies.
